Yes, that is correct. Here is some more detail about how I like to use this:
I like the PartNotes to be available for all the PartNumbers that are in one of my Lists.
I still need to be able to add new PartNumbers and PartNotes to the List even though it already has PartNumbers with Notes on it.
The PartNumber have to exist on the List before a PartNote could be attached to it. The PartNumber combined with the List name and UserName is used as a key to find the PartNote. I like to have at least two PartNotes possible per PartNumber-on-a-User's-List.
Here is is an example of one way that I use this, although the possibilities are endless.
The general idea In the example below is that I use one PartNote for a URL and the other PartNote for a custom description.
If the PartNumber is on more than one List, it may have a different PartNote on the second List than the first List. For example, I can have a List of capacitors called 'MyFavCaps'. My 0.1uF capacitor has a PartNote "CAP 0.1UF X7R 50V SMT 1206". (I use a short description for CAD) I have a second List called 'MyRadioParts'. On that List, the same 0.1uF cap has a PartNote 'General purpose bypass cap'.
For the second PartNote, the 'MyFavCaps' List has a link to the same search URL that I use to find this and similar parts. The 'MyRadioParts' second PartNote has a link to the 'MyFavCaps' List URL.
